HEY GUYS!!! Today i am going to talk about a true legend in
our music industry which i am sure that all of you will recognize this
respectful person. Even until now, this person masterpiece was still lingering
and fresh in my mind and heart. The melody as well as the lyrics was so
nostalgic.
Tan Sri P. Ramlee, or his real name, Teuku Zakaria Teuku
Nyak Puteh is an actor, singer, director, music player and songwriter popular
in Malaysia and Singapore. He was born in Penang on March 22, 1929 on the
morning of Eid. His father, who came from Lhokseumawe, Aceh, married to Che Mah
Hussein in 1925 in Kubang Buaya, Butterworth. He received his early education
at Sekolah Melayu Kampung Jawa and then to Francis Light School. Further his
studies in Penang Free School until the outbreak of the Second World War.
Start with play an ukel, P. Ramlee switching to guitar and
violin under the guidance of Mr. Kamaruddin (brass band leader in the Penang
Free School). He joined the Village Youth Orchestra and later Radiation Evening
Star. He was the champion singing organized by Radio Penang in 1947 and
selected as the Main Malaya. In that game, he used the letter "P"
(for Puteh) at the beginning of his name and remain the name P. Ramlee was to
end his life. He got so many famous songs includes Getaran Jiwa , Bunyi Gitar ,
